Skiing in April and water skiing in May! In Örnsköldsvik the seasons leave their mark on both leisure pursuits and life as a whole. Here you have access to a rich cultural and outdoor life including such things as the summer harbour festival, outdoor concerts, cross-country ski-ing in winter and premier league ice hockey matches. All the year round there is shopping, library services, swimming pools, cafés, restaurants and theatre. There is even more choice for leisure pursuits thanks to a wide range of clubs and societies.

There are cultural and recreation centres in several of the municipality´s districts. “Sliperiet" is located in the centre of town, a meeting-place where older teenagers have a say in how it is run.

Some of the latest leisure pursuit attractions worth giving a special mention are the adventure swimming-pool Paradisbadet, the 18-hole golf course at Veckefjärden and the new events arena in the harbour area.

You will be proud to be able to take your friends to the world heritage area "Höga Kusten" (the HighCoast) with its magnificent views and fantastic archipelago. Make sure you don´t miss the beautiful inland countryside which offers a wide range of activities all the year round.
